My boss is moving the difficult client off me over the course of the next several weeks. The relief I feel is overwhelming. There was a lot of shame initially - I have helped hospitals establish their locums process before from the ground up and I’ve been doing this for three years - I thought I could handle this better. I’ve been making really basic, novice mistakes lately that are hurting assignments because I’m constantly stressed out and high strung from how difficult this group is. With how awful I’ve been feeling, I was absolutely sure I was going to get a write up or something when my boss pulled me into a call.

But again this workplace seems to be one of the best places ever that doesn’t fail me - my boss is SO WORRIED because I’m so deeply stressed and my confidence has taken such a hit that he thinks it would be best to give them to a different coordinator. He didn’t force me, he said I could keep them if I wanted to keep trying but I admitted that I had already thought about asking him to move them to someone else but that I didn’t want to disappoint him. He just emphasized that my well being and my ability to come to work and kick ass and feel good about it is more important and he already thinks I have been beyond resilient with this inflexible people.

I cried SO MUCH yesterday but im crying a lot today too because it’s still absolutely bonkers to me that i have this job that cares so much about people NOT burning out and enjoying themselves. He was more worried about me wanting to quit than wanting to penalize me for the stress mistakes. It’s insane I’ve had jobs not care at all and jobs that SAY they care but the actions are still penalizing. But the people at this workplace just want me to stay and be happy and they know im good at this job but maybe the fit with me and this client just isn’t ideal.

Anyways I only worked two days this week and I am so spent. I love my job so much and i feel like this SHARP sense of relief that there is an end in sight to these troubles with this client.
